There are now three trained operators at RSCS SQEP'd to use our laser sampling tool. Congratulations guys!

It was the first time that our Viridian training team has given the ViridiScope course over the internet. Following the laser safety course, we demonstrated each aspect of laser sampling in our workshop in North Wales so the guys in New Hampshire were able to see exactly how it should be operated before attempting it themselves. Fortunately ViridiScope is very simple to use so they were all able to pass our competency test with flying colours by the end of the day.

As part of the REACH project, Viridian has developed the capability to take samples inside 6” ports

REACH is a collaboration project between Createc, Viridian Consultants and RACE to demonstrate the remote deployment of nuclear characterisation tools

As part of the REACH project, Viridian has developed the capability to take samples inside 6” ports Deployments of different tools in complex environments is challenging for operators. There is a constant requirement in civil nuclear to characterise the environment in areas where worker access is not possible. Pete Rodgers, Createc’s operations manager, said: “With the REACH project we wanted to create agile robotics and avoid putting humans into these hard-to-reach contaminated areas. Tools often have to pass through small openings to enter cells and glove boxes to determine...
